The Light Rail Depot Stop (Chinese: 輕鐵車廠站) is one of the MTR Light Rail stops. It is located on the ground at the junction of Lung Mun Road (Chinese: 龍門路) and Tuen Tsing Lane (Chinese: 屯青里), near Tuen Mun Depot (Chinese: 屯門車廠) and Sun Tuen Mun Centre (Chinese: 新屯門中心) in Tuen Mun District. It began service on 18 September 1988 and belongs to Zone 1.
History
This stop was originally named "Pak Kok Stop" (Chinese: 白角站) as it was located at a point called Pak Kok (Chinese: 白角) before Butterfly Bay (Chinese: 蝴蝶灣) is reclaimed. It was then renamed to the current "LRT Depot Stop" in 1989, in which LRT is the abbreviation of Light Rail Transit, the name for the Light Rail system until early 90s.[1] On June 13, 2010, the stop was renamed Light Rail Depot Stop, while the Chinese name remained unchanged.
